Overnight explosion damages entrance of Ganshoren home

An explosion struck the entrance of a home on Square du Centenaire in Ganshoren, Brussels, during the night of Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 June 2026. Brussels firefighters were called at about 00:30, spokesperson Walter Derieuw told BX1 and The Brussels Times. No one was injured.

The fire associated with the explosion had already been extinguished when emergency crews arrived, Derieuw said. The blast caused substantial damage to the building’s front door, while the available reporting identifies no further damage or need to evacuate residents.

The Brussels-West police zone confirmed the incident to BRUZZ. Police notified the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, and forensic specialists examined the scene, according to the broadcaster. Investigators are working to establish the precise cause and circumstances.
